Six More Years of Heath

The Steelers gave tight end Heath Miller a 6-year deal on Wednesday July 29, 2009. Two days before players report to Latrobe. That's great news, if you ask me. The Pirates could learn a lot from Kevin Colbert and the Rooneys.

Best Friends...Together No More

Back to the West Coast (Seattle and San Francisco)...They are going home.

Say Goodbye to Freddy Too

With the trade of Freddy Sanchez, the Pirates' plan of building, not re-building, is set. So many new faces, so many familiar faces gone. Neal and Frank have laid the foundation with prospects. Now fans must sit back and watch them grow. Here's to the Pirates of 2011...

So long Jack

I first met Jack at spring training when he was a rookie. When pitchers and catchers report to spring training, it's nothing short of pure boredom. But when Jack showed up, usually a day or two early, Pirate City shined with his youthfulness and love of the game. His defense on the field was second to none, as the Pirates endured losing seasons year after year. Through it all, Jack was a professional and played the game the way it was supposed to be played. I'm gonna miss him. Good luck Jack Flash.
